Today was Jack's second day of school, although he reminded me that for all the other kids, it was really "day tres." Guess he was brushing up on his counting for Spanish class today. Henry and I walked with him to school. We checked out the Y-program which looks pretty cool. All the kids were playing board games or coloring before class. Jack will go there (just in the school cafeteria) the three days Mommy works. So tomorrow will be his first day to really check it out. Then he headed off to the gym to sit with the other kids till the first bell rang. He didn't really hesitate, didn't request a hug, barely said good-bye. Well... I see how it will be! Poor Mom!
But Henry and I are enjoying our time alone on Mommy Days. Of course Jack is missed greatly, but things are a bit quieter!! I think Henry gets bored paling around with me, though, with no one to fight with. He frequently tells me, "I'm bored!!" So we ran some errands and then came home for a nap, which Henry hasn't taken for nearly a year, but all of a sudden, has started taking again in the last week. Present for me!! We're trying to get into a groove. Well, Mommy is trying to get a little more organized, stream-lining errands and getting on a grocery shopping/laundry/house cleaning schedule as best I can. With just one in tow, all that seems a lot easier!
Oh, one of Jack's assignments tonight was to fill a paper sack with three things that tell something about himself. He threw in a hockey puck, a small Nerf basketball, and a picture of him and the dogs. Mom had to take a picture "right now" and print it out "right now." Okay then!! Very important stuff. But I was so glad I did, because this is a picture a boy can treasure forever....
