It doesn't happen all that often, so when it does, it's definitely picture-worthy. A moment like this~with Jack actually allowing his little brother to sit upon his beloved truck~embracing him kindly with no shoving involved~these moments are truly priceless to Mommy. Jack sometimes struggles with the sharing that goes along with having a little sibling. He is still a Momma's boy and enjoys being coddled. When Mommy is holding Henry, Jack often wants to be held too. He rarely is okay with Henry holding his favorite Mac & Lightening McQueen toys--or any other toy he's deemed "his," for that matter. When he does play with Henry, he's often too rough--doesn't know his own strength. But I've really got to hand it to him. Under that rough exterior, it's really quite apparent how much he cares for his little brother.
They have really started playing well together. Henry loves to be chased by Jack. They share a "Jack & Jill" -style bathroom between their bedrooms, so this makes the perfect "track" for them to run around. From Henry's bedroom, through the bathroom, into Jack's bedroom, out into the hall, and back into Henry's room. Round and round they'll go, both of them laughing hysterically. Jack inevitably knocks Hank over, begins tickling him, pinning him to the ground, which Henry finds hilarious for a minute or two, until he realizes that he's being squished; then the crying begins. It's fun to watch and exciting to think that they are actually becoming friends. Mommy & Daddy hope and pray that they will be close as they grow up. What a great thing to have a best friend to live with you. What a blessing these two are!
