So Mommy got some inspiration for what promised to be the cutest picture of Hank ever, from a greeting card. It pictured a baby with a huge slice of watermelon on his lap, face first--just diggin' in. Since Henry will eat anything, I thought this would be cake. I sat him down in the yard (the first issue--he's not big on grass. Too itchy, I guess...) Then I tossed that huge wedge of watermelon on his lap and he absolutely flipped out! I had to bring Daddy out to be my lovely assistant since I couldn't position the watermelon and shoot the perfect shot. It was hopeless. He cried and cried. I don't know if the watermelon was too heavy, too cold, or if Henry just wasn't in the mood in general, but this cuter-than-ever photo just wasn't going to happen. We left the back yard both feeling horrible; him for being abused by a huge piece of fruit, and me for being defeated by a 1-year-old. The best laid plans....oh well...maybe next year!
