Food Nabber

I thought this picture sums up Jack and Henry's relationship to a tee. As noted before, Hank is a big eater. Jack eats like a bird. Here, Jack has a snack . . . and not surprisingly, Hank thinks he should have it! It's not only food Henry snags from Big Brother, though. From the time Hank started crawling I started hearing the famous adage "He's bothering me!!" Or, "Henny took my truck!" (Henry has been dubbed "Henny" in our household, since this is how Jack started saying his name, without the "r." When he tries to throw the "r'" in there, it starts sounding like "Harry.") Anyway, Jack usually follows these comments with a big "whack!" to the top of Henry's head. We are working on limits for Henry and sharing for Jack. Both are difficult concepts to learn and to teach, but we're getting there! We always tell Jack that if Henry is trying to take something he is playing with, then he needs to offer him something different in exchange (it doesn't usually matter what he has, as long as it's something to keep his little hands busy!). Jack amazes me when he problem-solves these incidences by himself--without violence!! (Maybe he is listening!!")
